My Dance Journey

I graduated from a professional dance academy, where my teaching journey first began. Over the years, I have accompanied many children in their first steps, watched them grow into confident young dancers, and even seen some pursue dance at university.
Each transformation has planted a flower in my heart — a garden filled with moments of courage, joy, and blossoming confidence. I still remember the sparkle in their eyes, the way their small hands stretched beyond their own space, and the proud smiles that lit up the stage. Those moments are etched deep within me. Watching them fall in love with colourful costumes, invent their own little dances everywhere, I felt as if tender buds of dance were growing inside me too.

A Joyful Escape

In teaching and performing with adults, dance has revealed itself as more than movement — it is joy, beauty, and freedom.
For many, stepping into class is like stepping into a new world, one filled with flowers, music, and elegance, far away from the complexity of daily life. Together, we discover how dance can be both relaxation and celebration. I have seen professionals from all walks of life light up when they “dance into confidence, dance into beauty.” In their gardens of work and life, we plant a bouquet called dance — adding an artistic space uniquely their own.

Why I Started This Project

I believe every body carries a story, and every movement carries culture. Dance is not only performance — it is a way of learning, healing, and connecting. Through movement, we can develop the body, express emotions, and touch the beauty of culture.

This belief has guided me through volunteering, performing, and sharing Chinese dance in different communities. Again and again, I have seen how applied dance can build confidence, improve posture, ease the mind, and create encounters that bridge differences.

This project is my way of opening the doors wider — to invite more people into this shared garden of applied dance, where every step becomes both growth and expression, culture and connection, beauty and joy.
